Exit"They are firstly, all volunteers and are then toughened by hard physical training. As a result they have that infectious optimism and that offensive eagerness which comes from physical well being. They have jumped from the air and by doing so have conquered fear.

Their duty lies in the van of battle; they are proud of their honour and have never failed in any task. They have the highest standards in all things whether it be skills in battle or smartness in execution of all peacetime duties.

They have shown themselves to be as tenacious and determined in defence as they are courageous in attack. They are in fact, men apart.

Founded

The Central Scotland Branch of the PRA was founded to create a meeting place for ex-members of the Parachute Regiment in the Central Region. The Branch, formerly known as the "Central Scotland Airborne Forces Association" was founded by Iain MacNeil, Matt Mulligan, John Hansard, Jim Colquhoun with the inaugural Chairman being George Thompson.

The Branch originally held their meetings in the RBL Club in Denny and then at the RBL Club in Cumbernauld before arriving at their current home in the RAFA Club in Glasgow.

During its early years the Branch also catered for ex-forces members that had not served in any of the 3 Regular Para BN's such as P.F.A, RHA, 1 Para Log, 9 Squadron, Guards Independent and Glider Squadrons.
